Early Life and Career

Isaac Kiese Thelin was born on June 24, 1992, in Örebro, Sweden, to Congolese parents. He began his football career with the youth academy of Karlslunds IF, where he made his debut in 2009. After two seasons, Thelin moved to IFK Norrköping in 2011.

Breakthrough in Norrköping and Malmö

After struggling to break into the first team in his debut season, Thelin made his Allsvenskan debut on April 9, 2012, against IFK Göteborg. He scored his first goal for Norrköping on October 1 in a match against GAIS. In the summer of 2014, Thelin transferred to Malmö FF. He made his debut for the club on July 19 against Kalmar FF and scored his first goal in the same match. Thelin's goals in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds against AC Sparta Prague and FK Ventspils helped Malmö advance to the group stage.

Move to France

In early 2015, Thelin secured a transfer to French club FC Girondins de Bordeaux for €3.5 million. He made his Ligue 1 debut against SC Bastia and scored his first goal for Bordeaux on February 28 against Stade de Reims.

Loan Spells and Belgian Success

In early 2017, Thelin joined Belgian club RSC Anderlecht on loan. He made his Belgian Pro League debut against Sint-Truidense on January 22, replacing Lukasz Teodorczyk. On February 23, Thelin scored a dramatic last-minute goal against FC Zenit Saint Petersburg in the UEFA Europa League, sending Anderlecht to the next round. He went on to win the Belgian championship in his debut season.

In the summer of 2017, Thelin was sent on loan to KVAS Eupen. He scored his first goal for Eupen on September 9 against KAS Eupen and scored a poker against SV Zulte Waregem on October 22.

International Career

Thelin was part of the Sweden under-21 team that won the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. He made his senior debut for Sweden on November 15, 2014, against Montenegro in a UEFA Euro 2016 qualifier.
