Early Career
Oleksiy Hodin, a Ukrainian footballer, began his youth career with Kyiv's TsSKA and Smena-Obolon. He later advanced to the professional ranks with TsSKA-3, TsSKA-2, Systema-Boreks, and Europa (Pryluky).
Debut in the Ukrainian Premier League
In 2002, Hodin joined Metalurh Donetsk. He made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League on November 3, 2002, against Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih. Despite playing primarily with Metalurh's reserve team, he became their top scorer in the 2002/03 season with eight goals.
Transfer to Illichivets Mariupol
In 2003, Hodin transferred to Illichivets Mariupol. He debuted for the team on July 12, 2003, against Tavriya Simferopol.
International Career
Hodin earned nine caps for Ukraine's under-21 team. He made his international debut on May 30, 2005, in a match against Syria.
