Early Life and Academy Career
Jake Livermore was born in Enfield, London, and joined the Tottenham Hotspur academy as a youth player. He progressed through the ranks, featuring in 39 matches and scoring 9 goals for the academy team. He also made 13 appearances for Tottenham's reserve team.
Professional Club Career
Tottenham HotspurLivermore made his debut for Tottenham's first team in a pre-season friendly against Stevenage in July 2007. He played a further 13 games for the club's youth and reserve teams before being loaned out to Milton Keynes Dons in February 2008.
Loan Spells
Livermore spent the following seasons on loan at various clubs to gain experience. He joined Crewe Alexandra in July 2008 but suffered a fibula fracture and failed to make any appearances. He returned to Tottenham and signed a new three-year contract in July 2009, scoring a goal against Barcelona in the Wembley Cup.
He was then loaned to Derby County and Peterborough United, where he scored in matches against Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday, respectively. In March 2010, he was recalled to Tottenham due to injuries within the squad.
Premier League Debut
Livermore finally made his Premier League debut for Tottenham against Stoke City in March 2010. He continued to be loaned to Ipswich Town and Leeds United before scoring his first goal for Tottenham in a Europa League match against Heart of Midlothian in August 2011.
Hull City and Drug Test Failure
Livermore was loaned to Hull City in August 2013. In the 2014/15 season, he failed a drug test, potentially facing a two-year ban. However, the FA investigation took into account a mitigating factor: Livermore had suffered from depression following the loss of his newborn child.
International Career
In August 2012, Livermore was called up to the England national team for a friendly match against Italy.
