Dr. James Hollis is a noted author and Jungian analyst who has dedicated his life to self-development and personal transformation. Born in Springfield, Illinois, he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Manchester College (1962) and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Drew University (1967).
Professional Career
Academia and Jungian TrainingFor over two decades, Dr. Hollis taught humanities at various colleges and universities. In 1977, he embarked on a life-changing journey, pursuing Jungian analysis training at the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland (1977-1982). This experience laid the foundation for his renowned work in analytical psychology.
Private Practice and Leadership
Dr. Hollis established a private practice as a Jungian analyst in Houston, Texas. From 1997 to 2008, he served as Executive Director of the Jung Center for Education in Houston. He has held prominent positions in the Inter-Regional Society of Jungian Analysts and the Philadelphia Jung Institute. He is also the Vice President of the Philemon Foundation, dedicated to publishing the complete works of Carl Jung.
