James Ogilvy: From Royal Roots to Entrepreneurial Success

Early Life and Royal Lineage

James Ogilvy was born on February 29, 1964, in Richmond Park, London, to Princess Alexandra of Kent and Angus Ogilvy. As the son of a princess and grandson of a king, he holds a unique position within the British royal family.

Education and Career Path

Ogilvy received his early education at a palace school alongside his cousins, Sarah Armstrong-Jones and Prince Edward. He later attended Eton College and the University of St. Andrews, where he studied art history.

Upon graduating, Ogilvy pursued a career in entrepreneurship. In 1996, he founded Luxury Briefing, a magazine focused on luxury goods. He also serves on the boards of various companies and has established himself as a skilled photographer and landscape designer.

Royal Ties and Succession

Although Ogilvy is not titled "Royal Highness," he remains a close relative of the British monarch. At the time of his birth, he was 13th in line to the throne. As of 2021, he is 53rd in line.

Ogilvy frequently attends royal family gatherings and is the godfather of Princess Eugenie of York. He is also a potential heir to the Earldom of Airlie, a title currently held by his uncle.

Family Life

In 1988, Ogilvy married Julia Caroline Rawlinson. They have two children together:

Flora Alexandra (born December 15, 1994)

Alexander Charles (born November 12, 1996)
