Early Career

Jamie Maclaren began his football journey in the youth system of English club Blackburn Rovers. In 2013, he completed his development at Rovers and returned to his homeland, signing for Perth Glory. He made his A-League debut on October 13, 2013, against Adelaide United and scored his first goal for Glory on October 27 against Melbourne City.

Breakthrough at Brisbane Roar

In 2015, Maclaren joined Brisbane Roar on a two-year deal. He made his debut on October 8 against Western Sydney Wanderers, scoring a brace to mark his arrival. On March 12, 2016, he scored a hat-trick against Melbourne Victory. In his debut season, Maclaren netted 20 goals, finishing second in the Golden Boot race behind Bruno Fornaroli.

Domestic and Asian Success

Maclaren continued his goalscoring exploits in the 2016/17 season, notching a hat-trick against Central Coast Mariners on April 2, 2017. He also scored three goals in the AFC Champions League against Japanese side Kashima Antlers and South Korean club Ulsan Hyundai. By the end of the season, he had accumulated 19 goals and shared the A-League Golden Boot with Besart Berisha.

European Adventure

In 2017, Maclaren signed a three-year contract with German club Darmstadt 98. He made his debut in the 2. Bundesliga on August 4 against Kaiserslautern but soon transferred to Scottish side Hibernian in early 2018. He made his Scottish Premiership debut against Dundee and scored his first goal for Hibs on February 3 against Rangers. On May 13, Maclaren netted a hat-trick against Rangers.

International Career

After initially representing Scotland's youth teams, Maclaren opted to play for Australia. He featured in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup for Australia's under-20 side. In 2016, he made his senior international debut against England. Maclaren played in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, appearing against Chile.
