Early Life and Career

Born in Partizánske, Czechoslovakia, Jan Geleta embarked on his football journey with Iskra Partizánske's youth team before joining the first team. In 1962, he made the move to Dukla Prague, where he spent the majority of his career.

Dukla Prague

With Dukla, Geleta enjoyed great success, winning three Czechoslovak championships in 1963, 1964, and 1966. He also claimed three Czechoslovak Cup titles in 1965, 1966, and 1969. During his tenure, he made 283 appearances and scored 27 goals. His outstanding performance earned him the Czechoslovak Footballer of the Year award in 1967.

International Career

Geleta represented Czechoslovakia from 1964 to 1970, amassing 19 caps and netting two goals. Notably, he played in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, where he helped the team secure a silver medal.

Later Career and Coaching

After leaving Dukla in 1976, Geleta played for Motorlet Prague until 1979, when he retired from professional football. He later returned to Dukla as a youth coach.
