Jana Hybášková: Trailblazing Czech Politician and Diplomat
Jana Hybášková is a renowned Czech politician and diplomat who has left an enduring mark on the European political landscape. Her journey began as a student at Charles University in Prague, where she pursued a degree in Arabic studies.
Diplomatic Career
After graduating, Hybášková embarked on an illustrious diplomatic career. From 1991 to 1997, she served in the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her exceptional skills led to her appointment as Czech Ambassador to Slovenia in 1997 and to Kuwait and Qatar from 2002 to 2004.
European Parliament Tenure
In 2004, Hybášková made history by being elected to the European Parliament as a member of the European Democrats party. She served on the Foreign Affairs Committee and became the head of the delegation for relations with Israel.
Leadership in the European Democratic Party
In 2008, Hybášková took the helm of the newly established European Democratic Party. As its leader, she unsuccessfully campaigned for re-election to the European Parliament.
Parliamentary Candidate
