Janusz Kubicki: Mayor of Zielona Góra
Janusz Kubicki, a Polish politician, has served as the President of Zielona Góra since 2006. He has been instrumental in the revival of the International Festival of Russian Song in Zielona Góra.
Early Life and Education
Kubicki was born on August 25, 1967, in Zielona Góra. He graduated with a master's degree in management and marketing from the Zielona Góra University of Technology in 1995.
Professional Career
Before entering politics, Kubicki worked in various roles, including in the computer center of a newspaper and the city's media department. He also held positions in the local beer and alcohol industry. He underwent additional training in 1997, 1998, and 2001.
In 2003, Kubicki became the Head of the Municipal Health Department.
Political CareerIn the second round of local elections in 2006, Kubicki was elected President of Zielona Góra, defeating Bożenna Bukiewicz of the Civic Platform. In 2010, he won re-election in the first round with 64.87% of the votes.
Kubicki is a member of the Democratic Left Alliance.
Personal LifeKubicki is married to Agata Kubicka, and they have two sons, Wojciech and Piotr.
