Early Life and FamilyJason Patrick, an American actor of film, theater, and television, was born on June 17, 1966, in Queens, New York. His father, Jason Miller, was an Oscar nominee and Pulitzer Prize winner, while his mother, Linda May, was the daughter of the famous actor and comedian Jackie Gleason. Jason's stepbrother, Joshua John Miller, is also an actor.
Education and Early Career
Patrick attended various schools, including general education, Roman Catholic, and Catholic schools. During his school years, he first tried his hand at acting in student productions of classic musicals such as "Dracula" and "Grease." Among his classmates were Joel Fisher, Trisha Lee Fisher, and Christine Vinton, the daughter of renowned singer Bobby Vinton.
After graduating from school, Jason Patrick landed a role in the television drama "Toughlove" alongside Bruce Dern, Piper Laurie, Didi Pfeffer, and Lee Remick. The following year, he was cast in "Solarbabies" with Peter DeLuise, Jamie Gertz, Lucas Haas, James LeGros, and Adrian Pasdar, although the film was not successful.
Rise to Fame
A few years later, Patrick starred alongside Dern and Gertz in "The Lost Boys" and "After Dark, My Sweet" respectively. In 1993, he landed one of the lead roles, Lieutenant Charles Gatewood, in the film "Geronimo: An American Legend" alongside Matt Damon and Wes Studi. He also appeared in Terrence Malick's "The Thin Red Line," but all his scenes were cut from the final edit.
In 2001, Patrick played a role in Alec Baldwin's film "The Devil and Daniel Webster," which was released in 2007 under the title "Shortcut to Happiness." He turned down the opportunity to play the lead role in the 2003 film "The Firm," which was then given to Tom Cruise. The following year, he also declined the offer to portray Jesus Christ in Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ."
Later Career
Patrick received positive reviews for his performance as a narcotics officer in the 2002 film "Narc." In 2005, he appeared in the Broadway production of "Brick," a revived version of Tennessee Williams' classic play "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." His most recent film to date is "The Confines," released in 2015, where he played the role of Cooper.
