Biography of Jean-Marc Mormeck
Jean-Marc Mormeck is a French professional boxer and former WBC and WBA champion in the cruiserweight division. He was born in Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, and moved to Paris, France with his family at the age of six.

Early Career
Mormeck's sporting career began with a passion for football, but he eventually transitioned to Muay Thai. Although he showed promise as an amateur, after watching several boxing matches on television, he decided to pursue a career in boxing. He turned professional in 1995, after five years of amateur boxing.

Early Championships
On November 10, 1998, Mormeck won his first significant title by becoming the French champion in the cruiserweight division after defeating Alain Simon by unanimous decision. He successfully defended this title three times before moving on to his next major victory.
WBA Cruiserweight Champion
Mormeck's next major achievement was winning the WBA cruiserweight championship. He claimed this title by defeating Virgil Hill with a technical knockout. He went on to successfully defend his title three times against Dale Brown, Alexander Gurov, and Virgil Hill. Mormeck then added the WBC championship to his collection by defeating Wayne Braithwaite.
Defeats and Comebacks
On January 7, 2006, Mormeck lost both of his championship titles when he was knocked out by O'Neil Bell in the 10th round. However, he regained both titles on March 17, 2007, by defeating Bell in a rematch. On November 10, 2007, Mormeck suffered another defeat when he was knocked out by David Haye in the 10th round.
Return to the Ring
After a break from boxing, Mormeck returned to the ring on December 17, 2009, this time competing in the heavyweight division. He faced Vinny Maddalone and emerged victorious after eight rounds.
