Early Career
Jefferson Lerma began his football journey as a youth player for Atlético Huila in Colombia. He made his professional debut for the club in the Liga Postobón on March 30, 2013, in a home match against Millonarios.
Rise to Stardom
Lerma's breakthrough came on February 7, 2014, when he scored his first league goal against Fortaleza. He went on to score a second goal in the dying minutes of the first half, securing his first career brace.
Spanish Adventure
In the summer of 2015, Lerma joined Levante in Spain's La Liga on loan. He made his debut in the top-flight on August 30, coming on as a substitute for Nabil Ghilas in the 90th minute of an away game against Las Palmas.
Primera Breakthrough
On December 7, 2015, Lerma scored his first La Liga goal in an away match against Espanyol. His impressive performances in Spain led to a permanent transfer to Levante in 2017.
International Recognition
Lerma has represented Colombia at various youth levels and made his senior international debut in 2017. He has been a regular member of the squad since then, playing in major tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup and the Copa América.
