Jenna Dewan's Early Life and Career

Jenna Dewan was born on December 3, 1980, in Hartford, Connecticut. Her family relocated several times during her childhood before settling in Dallas. At the age of five, Dewan began her dance training. At 16, she caught the attention of a Los Angeles talent scout, who advised her to reach out if she ever considered pursuing acting.

Dewan moved to Los Angeles at 18 to attend the University of Southern California and contacted the agent who had seen her perform. She was soon cast as a dancer in Janet Jackson's 18-month concert tour, leading her to drop out of school. After the tour, she continued her dance career with performances for N'Sync, Justin Timberlake, and Ricky Martin.

Early Film and Television Roles

Dewan made her television debut as a dancer in Pink's performance at the American Music Awards. In 2005, she had a minor role in the independent film "Waterborne," which gained festival recognition but never received a theatrical release.
