Jennifer Beals is an American actress and former model. She was born on December 19, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, United States. Her parents were Jeanne and Alfred Beals, with her mother being an elementary school teacher and her father owning a grocery store. Jennifer grew up with two brothers, Bobby and Gregory. When she was ten years old, her father passed away, and her mother remarried Edward Cohen.
After graduating from high school, Jennifer attended Yale University, where she studied literature. She received an honorary diploma and a bachelor's degree upon completing her studies. In 1980, Jennifer's dreams of becoming an actress started to come true as she landed a small role in a film. Over the next few years, she appeared in several more significant films, earning critical acclaim and even a Golden Globe nomination.
