Nancy Ann Parsons: A Biography

Nancy Ann Parsons was an American theater and film actress. She is best known for her role as Beulah Balbricker in the cult youth comedy "Porky's" in 1982 and its two sequels. She also portrayed Ida, a lover of smoked human flesh, in the horror film "Motel Hell" in 1980.

Early Life and Education

Nancy Ann Parsons was born on January 17, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Mary and Charles Parsons. Her father, Charles Parsons, was a vaudevillian performer. She grew up with her two sisters, Mary and Theresa, on the shores of Lake Minnetonka. When she turned 17, her father married Genevieve Stack and moved the family to South Pasadena, California.

It was in Pasadena, during high school, that Nancy developed a passion for acting. She participated in the school's drama club and eventually earned a full scholarship to study at the acting school of the Pasadena Playhouse. From 1960 to 1962, Nancy Parsons performed in plays by Edward Albee, Clifford Odets, Tennessee Williams, Max Bollinger, and William Shakespeare.

Marriage and Family

After completing her education in January 1963, Nancy married Alan Hipwell and moved to New York. They had a daughter named Elizabeth on November 3, 1964, and another daughter named Margaret on October 7, 1969. Elizabeth went on to become an actress. Nancy's marriage lasted just over nine years, and she divorced her husband in April 1972, returning to her acting career.

Career and Achievements

While studying at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Nancy obtained a degree in dramatic arts and received the Hugh O'Brien Award for young actors, which kickstarted her career. In 1976, she made her television debut in the series "Baretta," followed by her film debut in 1977 with three films: "Mary Jane Harper Cried Last Night," "I Never Promised You a Rose Garden," and "American Raspberry."

From 1976 to 1998, Nancy portrayed over 40 roles in television and film. Her final work was in the series "The Pretender." Sadly, Nancy Parsons passed away from heart failure on January 5, 2001, at the age of 58 in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
