Early Life and Education
Jeno Barcsay was born in 1900 in Katona, Hungary. In 1919, he moved to Budapest, where he studied at the School of Fine Arts until 1924.
Artistic Development
In 1926, Barcsay traveled to Paris, where he encountered the works of Cézanne. This encounter had a significant influence on his artistic style.
Teaching Career
From 1931 to 1945, Barcsay taught at the Municipal School. In 1945, he joined the Faculty of Fine Arts, where he taught anatomy until his retirement.
Legacy
Barcsay's anatomical drawings were featured in the book "Anatomy for Artists," which was published in the USSR. A museum dedicated to his work is located in Szentendre, near Budapest. Additionally, a hall at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts bears his name.
