Biography of Jeremy Transue

Jeremy Transue is an American alpine skier who is currently ranked in the top 100 in the world in super giant slalom and downhill skiing. Despite growing up in the New York hills of the Catskills, which were not particularly high, this did not stop him from mastering the art of downhill skiing and super giant slalom. His father worked at Hunter Mountain, just five minutes from their home, so Jeremy spent his childhood days on the mountain slopes. His mother worked as a nurse.

Jeremy started skiing at around eighteen months old and was already competing in races by the age of six or seven, all at Hunter Mountain, where his father Bruce was the director of transportation. He attended Green Mountain Valley School in Vermont and earned the title of 'U.S. Development Team' in the 2002 season. He fearlessly competed in a series of races, earning a knee injury but also a ticket to compete in the World Cup.

Jeremy made his debut in the World Cup in 2008, on November 29th, finishing 50th in the downhill event in Lake Louise. However, injuries have plagued his career. In the pre-season of 2006, he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury to his right knee, which kept him out for the entire winter. In 2004, he injured his knee at the national championships in Alaska. In the Super-G Cup of Europe in Sarentino, Italy, he suffered another ACL injury, keeping him out of competition at the end of January.

Despite these setbacks, Jeremy has shown his talent in the sport. He has achieved three top-10 finishes in the European Cup and won a couple of FIS super giant slalom events, including one at Mammoth Mountain. Due to his performances, he was given the nickname 'Worm'.

In addition to skiing, Jeremy has also played football and lacrosse. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis, baseball, and fishing. He believes that spring and summer training are crucial for him to focus on improving his skills.
