Biography of Jerome Kohlberg
Jerome Kohlberg, an American entrepreneur, billionaire, and philanthropist, was born in the United States in 1926. He is a highly educated individual, having completed his secondary education at New Rochelle High School before attending college. He obtained his higher education at Swarthmore College, where he earned a prestigious bachelor's degree in science and art. Afterward, Jerome pursued further studies at Columbia University, where he obtained a Juris Doctor degree.
Entrepreneurship and Success
In 1976, Jerome, along with Henry Kravis and George Roberts, co-founded KKR, a company specializing in the acquisition, restructuring, and subsequent sale of "troubled" companies for substantial sums of money. In 1987, the company was sold to RJR Nabisco for twenty-five million dollars. That same year, Jerome founded another venture, Kohlberg & Co. He served as the head of Kohlberg & Co. until 1987 when his son took over the leadership role.
Philanthropy and Charitable Work
