Early Career and Monterrey

Mexican footballer and midfielderJesus Manuel Corona began his footballing journey at the youth academy of Mexican club Monterrey. He made his debut for the club's first team in the Apertura 2010 match against Atlante on August 8, 2010, but would not make any further appearances that season. Despite his limited playing time, Corona was part of Monterrey's championship-winning team in the same tournament. On October 8, 2011, he scored his first goal for Monterrey in a 2-3 victory against Estudiantes Tecos.

In December 2012, Corona played in the FIFA Club World Cup with Monterrey, scoring the opening goal in their match against South Korean club Ulsan Hyundai on December 9. He contributed another goal in the third-place match against Egyptian club Al-Ahly on December 16, helping Monterrey secure the bronze medals.

European Adventure

Transfer to Twente

In the summer of 2013, Corona transferred to Dutch club Twente for a fee of €3.5 million. He made his Eredivisie debut on September 29, scoring his first goal for Twente in a match against Groningen.

Move to Porto

In the summer of 2015, Corona signed a five-year contract with Portuguese club Porto for a fee of €12 million. He made his Primeira Liga debut on September 12 against Arouca, scoring two goals in the match. On August 23, 2016, Corona scored a vital goal in the UEFA Champions League qualifying match against Italian side Roma, helping Porto advance to the tournament's group stage.

International Career

Youth and Debut

Corona represented Mexico at the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship, scoring two goals in the group stage match against Curacao. He helped Mexico win the tournament, scoring in the final against the United States on March 4. Corona made his senior team debut on November 12, 2014, in a friendly match against the Netherlands, coming on as a substitute for Miguel Herrera. He scored his first goal for Mexico on May 31, 2015, in a match against Guatemala.

Major Tournaments

Corona was part of the Mexico squad that participated in the 2015 Copa America in Chile, playing in matches against Bolivia, Chile, and Ecuador. Later that year, he won the CONCACAF Gold Cup, contributing a goal in the final against Jamaica. In 2016, Corona played in the Copa America Centenario in the United States, scoring a stunning goal against Venezuela after a solo run.
