In 2004/05, Davids made his professional debut with TSV 1860 Munich. Despite being a talented midfielder, he struggled to break into the first team and spent most of his three years at the club playing for the reserve team. He only made 21 appearances for the main squad.

Return to South Africa
In 2009, Davids returned to his home country and signed a short-term contract with SuperSport United FC, the reigning South African champions. His return proved successful as he helped the club win the Premier Soccer League title, his first major trophy.
