Biography of Jinx Falkenburg
Jinx Falkenburg, a Spanish-born model and actress, had a successful career in both film and television. She was born as Eugenia Lincoln Falkenburg on January 21, 1919, in Barcelona, Spain, and grew up in Chile. Her nickname "Jinx" was given to her by her mother.

After her family moved to the United States, she became a top model. Her brother, Bob Falkenburg, became the Wimbledon champion in 1948. As a teenager, Jinx appeared on the covers of numerous magazines as a top model. She also became the first "Miss Rheingold" for the Rheingold beer brand, chosen by the brewery executives themselves.

Throughout her acting career, Falkenburg appeared in over 25 films and numerous television projects. During World War II, she entertained American soldiers and became a popular pin-up girl, with her photos being proudly displayed on walls by her fans.

Some of her early films include the American film "Rosa de Francia" by José López Rubio and Gordon Wiles, the musical "El carnaval del diablo," and the musical comedy "Sing for Your Supper" directed by Charles Barton, starring Charles "Buddy" Rogers. She also appeared in another Barton-directed musical, "Sweetheart of the Fleet."
In 1944, Falkenburg starred in Lee Jason's comedy "Nine Girls" alongside Anne Harding, Evelyn Keyes, Anita Louise, Leslie Brooks, Lynn Merrick, Jeff Donnell, Nina Foch, Shirley Mills, and Marcy McGuire. In the same year, she appeared in Will Jason's comedy "Tahiti Nights" with Dave O'Brien. According to various sources, her last film was the comedy short film "Appointment with Baby" in 1948.
Jinx Falkenburg and her husband Rex MaKrary were pioneers in the talk show genre in the early 1940s. After getting married in 1945, they started hosting the popular radio talk show "Hi Jinx" in 1946. Falkenburg later hosted the NBC show "At Home" and had a column in the "New York Herald Tribune."
In the 1960s, Jinx appeared in television commercials for the American Gas Association (AGA). She was also a dedicated Republican and organized various fundraising events for the Republican Party.
Jinx Falkenburg passed away at the age of 84 on August 27, 2003, in a hospital near her home in Manhasset, New York. Her husband had passed away shortly before on July 29, 2003.
