Biography of Jiří Sekáč
Jiří Sekáč is a Czech ice hockey player who currently plays as a center and left winger for the KHL club "Ak Bars".
Early Career
Sekáč made his debut in the KHL with the club "Lev Poprad" during the 2011/2012 season. He scored 10 points (2 goals and 8 assists) in 36 games.
Struggles and Transfers
In the following season, Sekáč played 29 games for HC Lev Prague, but only managed to register one assist. It was a difficult season for the young forward. He also had a short stint with Sparta during that season, but in January he was again transferred back to Lev.
Finals Appearance with Lev
In his sixth season in the KHL, Sekáč reached the finals of the Gagarin Cup with Lev. Despite a hard-fought battle, they lost to Metallurg Magnitogorsk in a 4-3 series.
NHL and Return to KHL
Following the dissolution of Lev, Sekáč moved to the NHL, where he played for the Arizona Coyotes and Anaheim Ducks. However, on June 7, 2016, he returned to the KHL, signing a one-year contract with Ak Bars Kazan.
International Career
Sekáč has represented the Czech Republic in various national teams, including the junior, youth, and senior squads.
