A Career in Hockey: Jonas Müller

Early Life and Career

Jonas Müller, born in 1992 in Tönisvorst, Germany, began his hockey journey with the youth system of Krefeld Pinguine. He honed his skills in Germany's youth leagues before making his debut for Krefeld in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) in the 2009/10 season.

Draft and North American Experience

Müller's talent caught the attention of the Philadelphia Flyers, who selected him in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He spent the next two seasons with teams in the Western Hockey League (WHL), amassing 56 goals and 79 assists in 150 games.

American Hockey League and Trenton Titans

From 2012 to 2014, Müller played for the Adirondack Phantoms in the American Hockey League (AHL). In 95 games, he recorded 16 goals and 8 assists. He also made a brief appearance for the Trenton Titans of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

Return to Germany and EHC Eisbären Berlin

In 2014, Müller returned to Germany and joined EHC Eisbären Berlin. He became a key player for the team and helped them win the DEL championship in 2016.

Injury and Comeback

Müller's career was disrupted in September 2016 when he sustained a severe knee injury that sidelined him for six months. Despite the setback, he returned to the ice and continued to excel for Eisbären Berlin.

International Career

Müller represented Germany in various youth competitions before making his debut for the senior national team at the 2013 World Championship. He has since become a regular member of the roster and has competed in several international tournaments, including the 2018 Winter Olympics.
