Biography of Joey Belladonna

Joey Belladonna is a heavy metal singer and drummer, best known as a member of the band 'Anthrax'. He was the vocalist of 'Anthrax' from 1984 to 1992, and was considered a member of the band's classic lineup, which reunited and toured in 2005 and 2006. His real name is Joseph Bellardini, and he was born on October 13, 1960, in Oswego, New York. Joey Belladonna's heritage includes Native American blood from his mother's side, who are indigenous people living in modern-day Canada, and Italian roots from his father's side.

Classic Lineup of Anthrax

Joey Belladonna was the vocalist of 'Anthrax' from 1984 to 1992, and was considered a member of the band's classic lineup, which also included guitarist Dan Spitz, guitarist Scott Ian, bassist Frank Bello, and drummer Charlie Benante. His voice can be heard on four studio albums of the band and several singles, which sold over 8 million copies worldwide. Their second album, 'Spells of Fear', was released in 1998 but faced harsh criticism for its production and musical sloppiness. In 2003, Belladonna independently released a demo recording of their third album, simply titled '03', which was never officially recorded in a professional studio. This demo received praise from fans as a return to his best songs and music. In 2004, another independent demo album, 'Artifacts I', was released. Recently, the musician has started working on new material for the upcoming album of the band 'Belladonna'.

Current Status

At the age of 50, Joey Belladonna is currently the oldest member of the Big Four Thrash Metal bands. On May 10, 2010, it was officially announced that Belladonna had rejoined the other members of 'Anthrax' for performances at the European touring music festival, 'Sonisphere Festival'. After these shows and others, Joey Belladonna and the band returned to the studio to record their highly anticipated album, 'Worship Music', which was released on September 12, 2011.
