Early Life and Career

Swedish forward John Guidetti began his football journey with the youth team of Brommapojkarna in his native country.

Transfer to Manchester City

In April 2008, at the tender age of 16, Guidetti penned a three-year contract with English Premier League giants Manchester City. Notable clubs such as Internazionale, Sampdoria, Lazio, Roma, and Ajax Cape Town had also expressed interest in acquiring his services.

Manchester City Youth and Loan Spells

Guidetti immediately made an impact in Manchester City's youth setup, scoring 13 goals in 13 appearances. He netted a hat-trick in his debut match against Burnley. In 2010, Guidetti was initially set to join Swedish club Djurgården on loan for a year. However, he ultimately went on loan to his former club Brommapojkarna. In his first eight games in the Swedish top flight, he contributed three goals and four assists, establishing himself as one of the league's top scorers.

Debut for Manchester City and US Tour

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini invited Guidetti to join the first-team squad for the summer pre-season tour of the United States. During the tour, he made his senior debut for the club as a second-half substitute against Sporting CP. Two months later, on November 22, 2010, Guidetti made his competitive debut for Manchester City in the League Cup against West Bromwich Albion.

Loan to Feyenoord

In the summer of 2011, on the final day of the transfer window, Manchester City agreed to a season-long loan move to Dutch club Feyenoord. Guidetti debuted for his new team on September 11, 2011, against NAC Breda, scoring from the penalty spot. On December 18, 2011, he netted a hat-trick in a victory over Twente. In the first half of the season, Guidetti scored an impressive 11 goals in 12 appearances.
