Early Life and EducationJonas Gahr Støre was born on August 25, 1960. After completing high school, he embarked on a military path, joining the Royal Norwegian Naval Academy for two years. Subsequently, he pursued a degree in political science at the prestigious Sciences Po in Paris, graduating in 1985.
Career in Business and Politics
Upon returning to Norway, Støre worked at the Norwegian School of Management from 1986 to 1989. His political career commenced in 1989 when he assumed the role of Special Adviser at the Prime Minister's Office, a position he held until 1995. From 1995 to 1998, he led the International Department within the Prime Minister's Office.
Diplomatic Service
Støre's diplomatic experience includes serving as Norway's Ambassador to the United Nations mission in Geneva and working with the World Health Organization (WHO). In 2003, he became the President of the Norwegian Red Cross Committee.
Minister of Foreign Affairs
