Early Life
On June 12, 1919, Johannes Maria Josephus Kordfelder was born in Amsterdam as the only child of Josephus Kordfelder and Geertruida van Popplelen. His father, a railway official, passed away when Johannes was only a year old.
Football Career at Ajax
In 1941, Johannes joined Ajax Amsterdam under the guidance of Hungarian manager Vilmos Halpern. During World War II, Ajax did not achieve significant league success. However, in 1943, they triumphed in the Dutch Cup. Kordfelder played a pivotal role in the 3-2 victory over DFC Dordrecht, with his partnership with Gerrit Fischer on the right flank proving crucial. Despite his contributions, Kordfelder made only 36 appearances and scored 20 goals for Ajax in nearly five seasons.
Transfer to SDV and Retirement
In January 1947, Kordfelder moved to fellow Amsterdam club SDV, which competed in the second tier. His Ajax teammates Chris Ackerman and Jop Grigleit also joined SDV.
Personal Life
Kordfelder married Wilhelmina Hardeet, who gave birth to their five children: three sons and two daughters. After their divorce, he wed Liz Hibbeler on March 21, 1974. Their first child, a daughter named Nierina Chatelina Jacqueline, was born in 1968 before their marriage.
