Early Career and Club Debut
Josip Pivarić, a Croatian footballer, is a prominent defender who began his career at GNK Dinamo Zagreb. After being promoted to the senior squad in 2008, he was loaned to Lokomotiva Zagreb for two seasons. During his time at Lokomotiva, he made significant contributions, helping the team earn promotion to the First League.
Return to Dinamo and Domestic Success
In 2009, Pivarić signed a long-term contract with Dinamo Zagreb. He made his professional debut for the club in July 2009 against HNK Rijeka. In the following years, Pivarić established himself as a regular starter for Lokomotiva and returned to Dinamo in 2011. His performances earned him a place in the starting lineup, and he contributed to the club's championship victory in the 2012/13 season.
European Debut and Transfer to Dynamo Kyiv
In 2012, Pivarić made his European debut in the UEFA Champions League against PFC Ludogorets Razgrad. He played in all six group stage matches. In August 2017, he transferred to FC Dynamo Kyiv in Ukraine, where he has continued to showcase his defensive abilities.
International Recognition
Pivarić represented Croatia at the youth and under-21 levels from 2005 to 2009. In 2013, he made his senior debut for the Croatian national team in a friendly against Liechtenstein.
