Early Life and Vocation

Blessed Roman Catholic priest, Fr. [Name], entered the male monastic congregation, the Brothers of the Sacred Heart, on April 14, 1927, after completing his military service. He took temporary monastic vows on September 8, 1928, and perpetual vows on March 10, 1938.

Pastoral Ministry

He served in the chancellery of the Primate of Poland, the curia of the Archbishop of Poznań, and performed pastoral duties in the Church of St. Elizabeth in Lwów. For a time, he also led the novitiate of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart.

Martyrdom

Upon the outbreak of World War II, he was arrested by the Gestapo on October 3, 1939, and imprisoned in the Poznań death camp, Fort VII. He was later transferred to the Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria and finally to the Dachau concentration camp on December 8, 1940. His camp number was 22099. He spent five years in the concentration camp.

In early 1945, while tending to typhus patients, he contracted the disease and died shortly after liberation from the camp.

Beatification

On June 13, 1999, he was beatified by Pope John Paul II along with other Polish martyrs of World War II. His memorial day is celebrated on June 12.
