Julia Garner, an American actress and model, was born on February 1, 1994, in the Riverdale neighborhood of the Bronx, New York City. Her mother, Tami Gingold, is a therapist and stand-up comedian, while her father, Thomas Garner, is a painter and teacher from Ohio. Garner's older sister, Anna, is a writer, producer, and artist.
As a child, Garner was a shy teenager, but her parents encouraged her to take acting classes. This experience led her to a small role in the short film "Julia," inspiring her to pursue a career in acting.
Acting Debut and Early Success
In 2010, Garner made her feature film debut in the psychological thriller "Martha Marcy May Marlene." Although a minor role, it launched her acting career. Garner credits her admiration for Hollywood stars Bette Davis and Monica Vitti as sources of inspiration.
