Early Life and Career

Julianna Rose Mauriello is an American actress. She was born in Irvington, New York, and raised in Pleasantville. Her family consists of parents Daniel and Imelda Mauriello; older siblings Marc, Alex, and Matthew; and younger sister. From a young age, Mauriello was drawn to theater, watching her siblings perform in musical theater productions at Pleasantville School. She later joined them on stage in the production of "Carousel."

A summer at the French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts furthered her passion for the stage. This led her to meet theatrical agent Nancy Carson, who helped her land her first professional role as Li'l Titch in the Broadway production of "Oklahoma!" in 2002. To be closer to her newfound profession, Mauriello and her family relocated to Manhattan. She attended the Professional Performing Arts School, where she was inducted into the school's Hall of Fame.

Stage and Screen Appearances

Mauriello's Broadway career continued with roles in "Gypsy: A Musical Fable." She also understudied in "Baby June" and "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn." Simultaneously, she appeared in commercials for brands like Volvo, Wendy's, AstraZeneca (Nexium), and Disney Entertainment.

Her breakthrough came with the television series "LazyTown" (2004-2007). Mauriello played the role of Stephanie, earning a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Performer in Children's Series in 2006. The show was a success, airing in 70 countries on 5 continents. Mauriello reprised her role in "LazyTown Extra" (2008). She also made cameo appearances in "Hip Hop Kids: Hip Hop Homeroom Math" (2006) and starred in the short film "A Fix" (2008).

Beyond LazyTown

Mauriello has participated in various other ventures. She appeared on "The Tony Danza Show" (2006) and portrayed Stephanie from "LazyTown" in the annual Mexican charity telethon Teletón (2008).

Education and Personal Life

Outside of acting, Mauriello has pursued a variety of interests. She studied psychology at Middlebury College, where she was a member of the dance company and participated in the student-run a cappella group, the Middlebury Vox. She is also an avid singer and dancer, having taken ballet, jazz, tap, and Irish step lessons. She has studied voice with Janine Molinari and Rona Leslie.

Mauriello has Italian ancestry on her father's side and Irish and German ancestry on her mother's side. Her sister, Alex Mauriello, is also an actress. Mauriello is an avid fan of U2 and "The Simpsons." She has a miniature poodle named after Audrey Hepburn, which was gifted to her on her 13th birthday by the cast and crew of "LazyTown."
