Jussiê Ferreira Vieira, known as Jussiê, is a Brazilian footballer who made his mark as a forward. His career took him across Brazil, Japan, and France, where he achieved notable success.
Early Career and Rise in Brazil
Jussiê's professional career began with Cruzeiro in 2001. Initially a reserve player, he struggled for playing time. However, a loan move to Kashiwa Reysol in Japan in 2003 proved pivotal. He scored 5 goals in 17 appearances, showcasing his attacking prowess.
Upon returning to Cruzeiro, Jussiê established himself as a key player and top goalscorer in the 2004 season, netting 12 goals. This earned him a move to French club Lens in 2005.
Stint at Lens
Jussiê made his French league debut for Lens against Nantes in 2005. He scored his first goal against Metz in 2006. Over the next two seasons, he notched 13 goals in 68 league appearances, also featuring in European competitions.
Shift to Bordeaux and Success
In 2007, Jussiê joined Bordeaux, where he faced competition from Marouane Chamakh, Jean-Claude Darcheville, and Fernando Cavenaghi. Despite limited playing time, he contributed to Bordeaux's sixth-place finish.
The following season (2008/09), Bordeaux claimed the French league championship with Jussiê as part of the squad. He also obtained French citizenship in 2011.
