Biography of Justin Allgaier
Early Life and Racing BeginningsJustin Allgaier was born in Riverton, Illinois. He developed a passion for racing at a young age and started competing in karting at the age of 5. By the time he was 13, Allgaier had transitioned to racing more serious car models. At the age of 16, he made his debut in the ARCA RE/MAX Series in Illinois.
ARCA Career
Initially, Allgaier raced for Ken Schrader, Kerry Scherer, and Bob Schacht. In 2003, he participated in six ARCA races, finishing second in Toledo Speedway. In 2005, Allgaier competed in seven ARCA races and achieved his first victory in Springfield, setting a new track record.
NASCAR Debut
In the same year, Allgaier made his NASCAR debut, participating in four races. However, he was unable to secure a position higher than 26th. Allgaier also appeared in the Discovery Channel show "Driver X: The Race For The Ride," where Jack Roush was scouting for new talents for his team, Roush Racing.
Continued ARCA Success
In 2006, Allgaier continued racing in ARCA and achieved his first win at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack. This victory made him the first Springfield native to win at the track in its 72-year history. In 2007, he secured another ARCA victory in Salem and finished fourth overall in the series. Allgaier also won two awards in dwarf car racing that same year.
Breakthrough Season and NASCAR Contract
In 2008, Allgaier competed in a full season of ARCA racing, winning six races, including three finals. He also won the championship with a narrow margin, ending Frank Kimmel's eight-year winning streak. Allgaier returned to NASCAR and signed a contract with Roger Penske's team in 2009. His best result with the team was an 11th place finish.
Nationwide Series and First Win
In 2010, Allgaier signed a new racing contract and became sponsored by Cellco Partners in the Nationwide Series. He achieved his first pole position in NASCAR races and secured his first victory in the Nationwide Series on March 20, 2010.
Joining Turner Motorsport
In 2011, Allgaier joined Turner Motorsport and raced a Chevrolet Impala for the entire season. He had a successful season, including a win in the first race at the Chicagoland Speedway.
