Early Life and Career

Born on January 24, 1984, in Los Angeles, California, Justin Baldoni was raised in Medford, Oregon. With a Jewish-Italian heritage, Baldoni excelled in football, track and field, and DJing during his teenage years. However, an injury forced him to abandon sports, leading him to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles.

After minor roles in various films and TV shows, Baldoni ventured into filmmaking, directing a music video for the Dawn Breakers International Film Festival. In 2012, he created "My Last Days," the most popular digital documentary series in history, with its second season airing on the CW and its third season scheduled for winter 2018.

Breakthrough and "Jane the Virgin"

Baldoni's breakthrough came with the CW series "Jane the Virgin" (2014-present), based on a Venezuelan telenovela. He portrays Rafael Solano, the father of the titular character's child. The show's success paved the way for Baldoni to establish Wayfarer Entertainment, a digital media studio.

Technological Initiatives

Beyond acting, Baldoni is an active entrepreneur in the tech space. He co-founded the app "Shout" in 2013 to promote positivity online and launched "Belly Bump" in 2017 for expecting and new mothers. In July 2017, Variety reported that Wayfarer Entertainment was developing a male-oriented talk show called "Man Enough." Hosted by Baldoni, the show explored modern masculinity and featured notable guests like Matt McGorry and Javier Muñoz.

Justin Baldoni is a vocal feminist. In 2017, he spoke at the annual TEDWomen conference, which focuses on women's issues and gender equality. His advocacy continues to shape his work both on and off the screen.

Baldoni's directorial debut, "Five Feet Apart," starring Cole Sprouse and Haley Lu Richardson, is scheduled for release in March 2019. Additionally, he is set to direct and produce an adaptation of Laura Sobiech's book "Fly a Little Higher" for Warner Bros.
