Early Life and Career
Kalibeck Kuanyshpayev was born on April 25, 1893, in Sarytau, Kazakhstan. His first performances date back to the early 1920s when he participated in the Kuyandin Fair near Semipalatinsk with a "traveling troupe."
Founding the Kazakh Theater
In 1925, Kuanyshpayev played a pivotal role in establishing the first professional Kazakh theater in Kyzyl-Orda (now M. O. Auezov Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater in Almaty). In 1928, he moved to Almaty with the theater and remained with the troupe until 1964.
