Kamil Glik is a Polish football player who currently plays as a central defender for AS Monaco and the Polish national team. He was born on December 3, 1988, in Jastrzębie Zdrój, Poland.
Early Career
Glik began his football career in several Polish clubs during his youth. In 2005, he moved to Spain and joined the club "Orihuela." After two seasons, Glik transferred to the third team of Real Madrid, where he played 18 matches. On August 6, 2008, he returned to Poland and signed a four-year contract with the club "Piast." He made his debut for the team on August 30, coming on as a substitute. From the following match onwards, Glik became a regular starter for "Piast" and had an outstanding second season with the club.
Professional Career
On July 7, 2010, Glik transferred to the Italian club "Palermo," signing a five-year contract. He made his debut for the team on August 19 in a Europa League match against "Maribor," which ended in a 3-0 victory for "Rosanero." He played a total of four matches for the club.
On December 28, 2010, Glik was loaned to the club "Bari." In July 2011, "Palermo" reached an agreement with "Torino" for joint ownership of the Polish player, and since July 12, Glik has been playing for the Turin-based club.
International Career
Glik began his international career with the Polish national team at the U-17 level and later played for the country's youth teams. On January 20, 2010, he made his debut for the senior national team in a match against Thailand, scoring a goal as well. His team won the game 3-1.
