Kamil Zayatte is a Guinean professional footballer who plays as a defender for the Guinean national team.
Early Life and Career
Zayatte was born in Guinea but moved to Paris with his family at the age of 15. He began his football career with Lens, playing for their youth and first team, where he made one appearance in the French league and one in the French Cup.
Swiss and English Clubs
After his stint at Lens, Zayatte joined Swiss club Young Boys, where he spent two seasons. He then sought to play in England and trialled with Everton and Newcastle United, but it was Hull City who eventually signed him on a season-long loan on August 31.
Hull City Purchase
On January 23, 2009, the loan deal was converted into a permanent transfer, with Hull City purchasing Zayatte from Young Boys for £2.5 million. The contract was for a three-year period.
