Early Life and EducationKaren Duffy was born on May 23, 1961, in New York City to a homemaker mother and a scientist father. She graduated from Park Ridge High School in New Jersey and went on to pursue a higher education at the University of Colorado, where she graduated in 1979.

After graduating, Duffy attempted to break into the television and film industry. Her striking features and physique led her to a modeling agency, where she quickly established herself as a professional runway model with a reputable portfolio.
