Carlo Sakandelidze was a Georgian actor who dedicated a significant portion of his life to the Rustaveli Theater. Born on April 1, 1928, in a village in the Vani District of Georgia, Carlo lost his mother when he was only three years old. Due to his father's arrest, who was a Russian language teacher, Carlo was taken in by his older sisters and raised in Tbilisi.
Career at Rustaveli Theater
In 1947, Carlo Sakandelidze was accepted into the troupe of the Rustaveli Theater, where he spent the majority of his life, portraying over 60 roles. He became well-known for his performances on this stage and established himself as a talented actor.

Carlo Sakandelidze also had a successful career in film, primarily working at the "Georgia-Film" studio. He appeared in various memorable roles, including Kukuri in Otar Abesadze's melodrama "The Student of Esculapius", Police Chief Nikandro Kilia in the TV series "Shores", Parna in Otar Abesadze's melodrama "Star of My City", and Eradze, a clerk in the movie "Georgian Chronicle of the 19th Century" directed by Alexander Rekhviashvili.
Collaboration with Georgiy Daneliya
Carlo Sakandelidze collaborated with the renowned director Georgiy Daneliya and performed memorable roles in his comedies. He portrayed the lawyer Dodo in "Don't Grieve!" and Cincadze, a supplier who asked the main character to bring back his chickens in the comedy "Mimino".
