Biography

Early Life and Education

Aravot Yelantianwas born in 1968. He graduated from the Kiev Police Academy in 1991 and earned a degree in law.

Career in Law Enforcement

Investigator and Senior Officer

From 1986 to 1990, Yelantian worked as an operative in the criminal investigation department of the Masis District Internal Affairs Department. He then served as a senior operative in the state property department of the Ararat District Internal Affairs Department from 1991 to 1994.

Assistant and Senior Assistant Military Prosecutor

From 1997 to 2003, Yelantian served as assistant and later senior assistant to the Military Prosecutor of Armenia.

Chief of Police and Member of Parliament

Chief of Police of Ashtarak

Yelantian was appointed Chief of Police of the Ashtarak District in 2003. He held this position until 2007.

Member of Parliament

On May 12, 2007, Yelantian was elected as a member of the Armenian Parliament. He serves on the Standing Committee on Defense, National Security, and Internal Affairs.

Political Affiliation

Yelantian is a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party.
