Early Life and Career in the USKei Kamara, a renowned Sierra Leonean footballer, began his journey in the United States after fleeing his war-torn homeland with his family. He showcased his talents on the football field at California State University, Dominguez Hills, before joining the Orange County Blue Star in the PDL.
MLS Career
Kamara's exceptional performances earned him a draft pick by the Columbus Crew in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft. From there, he embarked on a series of successful stints with various MLS clubs. He played for the San Jose Earthquakes before being traded to the Houston Dynamo in 2008. In 2009, he moved to the Kansas City Wizards in exchange for Abe Thompson.
Loan to Norwich City
In January 2013, Kamara secured a loan move to English club Norwich City, where he made his debut against Fulham. He recorded his sole goal for the "Canaries" in a 2-1 victory over Everton before returning to Sporting Kansas City at the end of the season.
Career with Middlesbrough
In September 2013, Kamara signed a two-year contract with Middlesbrough. He made his debut as a substitute and scored his first goal for the "Riversiders" shortly after.
International Career with Sierra Leone
Kamara made a significant contribution to his national team, debuting in 2009. In 2012, he netted his first two goals for Sierra Leone in a qualifying match for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations against São Tomé and Príncipe.
