Early Career
Antonnello Cuccureddu, an Italian footballer, began his career with his hometown team. In the 1966/67 season, he joined Sassari Torres, where he played as a midfielder. The following season, he moved to Brescia in Serie B.
Juventus Legend
In 1969, Cuccureddu made the move to Juventus for a transfer fee of 400 million lire, a significant amount at the time. He spent 12 illustrious years with the "Old Lady," appearing in 303 matches and scoring 26 goals. Cuccureddu became one of the most distinguished defenders of his era.
International Career
Cuccureddu made his international debut for Italy in 1975, under the guidance of Enzo Bearzot. He earned 13 caps for the Azzurri and played in five matches at the 1978 FIFA World Cup. In the third-place match against Brazil, Italy suffered a 1-2 defeat.
Coaching Career
After retiring as a player, Cuccureddu embarked on a coaching career. He began as the head coach of Juventus' youth squad, winning the Primavera Scudetto and the Viareggio Tournament in 1994/95. Cuccureddu went on to lead several clubs, including Acireale, Ternana, Crotone, Avellino, Cesari Torres, Grosseto, Perugia, and Pescara.
