Biography of Kelly Wood
Kelly Wood was born on April 8, 1981, in Dundee, Scotland. She is a Scottish curler who represents Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the international and Olympic level.

Early Career
Wood made her debut in curling in 1999 at the Letham Grange Ice Rink in the World Junior Curling Championship. She played as the second player in the team and finished in fifth place in the competition.

International Success
After her debut, Wood went on to participate in numerous European and World Championships. She served as the skip, responsible for the team's strategy, four times. In 2006, Scottish curlers earned the right to compete in the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. Wood was included in the list of nine women tasked with proving their readiness to represent the Olympic team and defend the gold medal won by the British team in Salt Lake City in 2002. She joined Ron Martin, Lynn Cameron, Jackie Lockhart, and Debbie Knox in the Olympic competition.

Olympic Experience
Despite a victory over the United States with a score of 10-4 after only six ends, Great Britain's hopes were shattered when Canada defeated Denmark in the final end of a tense match. If not for this outcome, Great Britain could have advanced to the playoffs and competed for a spot in the semifinals. Wood acknowledged in an interview after the game that the British team had a narrow chance, but she also emphasized the importance of learning from the experience.
Medal Success
Wood earned her first medal in international curling at the 2007 World Women's Championship. She captained the Scottish team, consisting of Jackie Lockhart, Lorna Vevers, Lindsey Wood, and Karen Addison. The championship resulted in a bronze medal for the Scottish team after they lost to Denmark in the semifinals, skippered by Angelina Jensen.
Olympic Representation
In 2010, Wood represented Great Britain at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver as the second player in the team alongside Eve Muirhead (skip), Jackie Lockhart, Lorna Vevers, and Anne Laird.
