Kevan Campbell was an English football player who made his mark as a lethal striker for several Premier League clubs. He holds the record for the most league goals scored by an English player who never represented the national team (76).
Arsenal Roots
Campbell began his career at Arsenal, joining the club's youth setup as a schoolboy in 1985. He quickly established himself as a prolific scorer, hitting 59 goals in one season. In 1988, he made his first-team debut and won the FA Youth Cup.
Loan Spells and Nottingham Forest
Campbell's career took off during loan spells at Leyton Orient and Leicester City. In 1995, he was sold to Nottingham Forest for £2.5 million, where he spent three seasons. He helped Forest win the First Division Championship in 1998 but left the club that summer.
Trabzonspor Controversy
In 1998, Campbell joined Turkish side Trabzonspor, but his time there was brief. He left after seven months due to a perceived racist incident involving the club's president.
Everton Heroics
Campbell returned to England in 1999, joining Everton on loan. He played a vital role in saving the club from relegation that season, becoming their top scorer. Everton made his move permanent in 1999 for £3 million. He remained a key player for several years, captaining the side and becoming their top scorer once more in 2001/02.
Later Career
