Khalaf Al Habtour is a self-made Arab billionaire. Currently, he is the head of the Al Habtoor Group, with a personal fortune of approximately $2.5 billion, according to Forbes magazine, which placed him on the list of the richest people on the planet. His father was a pearl trader, and there were no indications of significant wealth for Khalaf. However, the future billionaire did not lose hope. He actively participated in the development of the United Arab Emirates, and his prosperity grew rapidly.

Building a Successful Company

As a teenager, Khalaf worked for a construction company in Abu Dhabi. After graduating from school, he became the head of the company, becoming the youngest leader in the country at that time. He then founded his own company, Al Habtour Al Handasia, which later became the Al Habtoor Group. From its inception, the company started building residential buildings in Dubai and carried out various construction projects.

Khalaf Al Habtour had close friendships with the ruling family of Dubai, particularly with Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum's sons. When Khalaf turned 27, he won a tender to create a medical center in Dubai and completed it ahead of schedule. Impressed by his excellent work, Sheikh Rashid gifted Khalaf a luxurious plot of land in the suburbs, which is now the most prestigious area in Dubai. Khalaf soon built a luxurious hotel on the land.
