Early Life and Education

Born on March 3, 1933, in China, Harry Triguboff grew up in the Russian-Jewish community of Tianjin. In 1947, his family relocated to Australia, where he attended Scots College in Sydney. Triguboff later earned a degree in Textiles from Leeds University in England and received an honorary doctorate from the same institution.

Early Career

After graduating, Triguboff worked for various textile companies in Israel and South Africa. In 1960, he returned to Australia and became an Australian citizen in 1961. He held several jobs before establishing his own company, Meriton Apartments.

Meriton Apartments

Triguboff built his first apartment block in 1963. Meriton has since become one of Australia's most successful property developers. In 2004, the company completed the World Tower, the tallest residential building in Sydney.

Philanthropy

In addition to his real estate ventures, Triguboff is an active philanthropist. He has donated large sums to various organizations and charities, including a $9 million donation to the Mercy Foundation.

Recognition and Honors

Triguboff's achievements have been widely recognized and honored. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1990 and an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) in 1999.
