Early Life and Influences
Kina Kosper, born January 25, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan, was raised by her single mother and grandmother after her father left the family when she was young. Despite the absence of a paternal figure, Kina's strong-willed mother and grandmother instilled a sense of self-worth and determination in her.
As a child, Kina possessed an unyielding spirit, frequently engaging in mischievous and adventurous pursuits. Musical Beginnings

Following a fateful suggestion from her friend Nicole Gilbert, she relocated to Los Angeles and joined a series of girl groups.
In 1995, Kina auditioned and was selected to replace Monika Doebbl in the Grammy-nominated R&B group Brownstone. After almost three years with the group, she left due to feelings of betrayal and stagnation. It was during this period that she began to craft her own unique sound.
Solo Career
In 2000, Kina released her debut and only solo album, aptly titled "Kina." Produced by DreamWorks, the album showcased her distinctive blend of rock and hip-hop influences. The album's lead single, "Girl from the Gutter," propelled her into the spotlight, earning her critical acclaim and a top 21 spot on the Billboard charts.
Modeling and Beyond
Kina's success as a musician paved the way for her to pursue other creative endeavors. She signed with UTA and Wilhelmina Models, becoming a sought-after model for renowned photographers such as Annie Leibovitz. She also embarked on promotional tours and collaborated with the Australian rock band Savage Garden.
Throughout her career, Kina has remained vocal about her musical inspirations, including Dido, Filter, Michael Jackson, Aretha Franklin, and Coldplay. Her singles have been featured in popular television shows and comedy films.
Personal Life
