Biography of Leslie Carter
Leslie Barbara Carter was an American singer, songwriter, pianist, and clarinetist. She was born on June 6, 1986, in Tampa, Florida, USA. She was the third child of Robert Gene Carter and Jane Elizabeth Carter (née Spalding). Leslie had an older brother and sister, Nicholas Gene Carter (best known as Nick Carter; born in 1980) and Bobbie Jean Carter (born in 1982). She also had younger twin siblings, Aaron Charles Carter and Angel Charisma Carter (born in 1987). Additionally, she had a half-sister and half-brother from her father's side, Virginia Marie (born in 1972) and Kaden (born in 2005).

Early Career and Personal Life
In 1999, Leslie signed a contract with DreamWorks Records and started recording her debut album. The album was initially planned to be released in June 2000, but DreamWorks Records decided not to release it, although it leaked onto the internet. Her only official single, "Like Wow!", was released in January 2001 and became the soundtrack for the Academy Award-winning animated film "Shrek". The song received positive reviews and reached the 15th position on the "Hot 100" chart.

In 2006, Leslie participated in the family reality show "House of Carters". On September 12, 2008, she married her long-time love, Mike Ashton. Shortly after their wedding, the newlyweds moved to Canada, where Leslie gave birth to their only child, daughter Alyssa Jane Ashton, on April 1, 2011.
Tragic Death
On January 31, 2012, Leslie, who had previously complained about feeling unwell, was found lifeless in her father's home in New York, where he lives with his wife Ginger and their son. Upon arrival at Westfield Memorial Hospital, Leslie was pronounced dead. According to reports, she died from an accidental overdose of medication she was taking for her mental disorders, to which she had become heavily dependent towards the end of her life.
