Early Life and Education
Kirill Kazakov was born on August 23, 1979, in Mogilev, Belarus. He graduated from the Faculty of History at the Mogilev State University named after Kuleshov (1997-2003) and later underwent professional retraining at the Institute of Public Service of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus as an international relations specialist (2008-2010).
Journalistic Career
During his studies at Mogilev State University, Kazakov worked as a reporter for the Tele and Radio Company "Mogilyov" from 1998 to 2001. In 2001, he became a special correspondent for the Belarusian Tele and Radio Company (BTRC) in the Mogilev region. In 2002, he moved to Minsk to work for BTRC's program "Zone X" as a reporter.
In 2003, Kazakov became the head of the crime news department of the First National Television Channel's News Agency and also the head of the program "Zone X". Under his leadership, the program's popularity soared, becoming the highest-rated program on Belarusian television (with an audience of 209,000 people in 2003). During his time, a new feature was introduced in the morning broadcasts, where the city's traffic situation was shown live.
Kazakov created several special reports, journalistic investigations, and documentaries in this period. In 2011, he became the head of the satellite TV channel "Belarus-TV," which is part of BTRC.
Director of the News Agency
In 2012, Kazakov returned to BTRC's News Agency as its General Director. Under his leadership, the News Agency had over ten departments and its journalists created content for the TV channels "Belarus-1," "Belarus-2," "Belarus-3," and "Belarus-24." In 2015, he became the General Producer of BTRC.
Awards and Recognition
Kazakov has received several awards, including:- 2005: "Televershina" in the nomination "Best Reporter"
- 2006: Special Award of the President of the Republic of Belarus (Decree No. 3 of January 4, 2006)
- 2013: "Televershina" Grand Prix in the nomination "Television Project of the Year" for the Belteleradiocompany film series "Fate of the Giants" (co-author)
Current Position
Currently, Kirill Kazakov holds the position of Deputy General Director of the Capital Television.
