Early Life and Youth Career

Kirk Broadfoot was born on August 8, 1984, in Irvine, Scotland. He grew up in the village of Ayr, six miles from Ayr. As a youth, Broadfoot played for teams such as Coyle Thistle, Ayr Volspars, Auchinleck Talbot, and Queen of the South.

Hibernian and St. Mirren

In 2000, Broadfoot joined the youth academy of Edinburgh club Hibernian. After completing his training, the club decided not to offer him a professional contract. On July 1, 2002, Broadfoot signed for St. Mirren. He made his debut for the Saints on September 24 of that year against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the League Cup. Broadfoot scored his first goal for St. Mirren on January 1, 2003, against Clyde.

Rangers

In March 2007, Broadfoot signed a pre-contract with Rangers, joining them officially on July 1. He made his debut for the Gers in the second qualifying round of the Champions League against Zeta on July 31. Broadfoot scored his first goal for Rangers against Falkirk on August 18.

International Career

Broadfoot made his senior debut for Scotland in the 2008-2010 period, earning four caps and scoring one goal.

Later Career

Following Rangers' financial troubles, Broadfoot joined Blackpool in 2012. He later played for Rotherham United and Kilmarnock before retiring in 2020.
